Chadderton’s Danny Seal and his Emerging North promotional outfit are putting on their second EN Live showcase on Saturday, at Aatma (formerly known as the Kraak Gallery) in Stevenson’s Square, part of Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
Advance tickets, priced £6, are available via www.skiddle.com or the link on the Emerging North Facebook page.
Three brilliant and highly-rated bands feature this month. They are Jekyll, from Blackpool; Stillia, of St Helens; and Salford-based Red Light Effect.
* Oldham indie hopefuls The Recreation are putting on their own headline show at Aatma on Saturday, September 10. It’s a while off yet, of course, but tickets, priced £3, are now available via a link on the Rec’s Facebook page. Support on the night will be provided by recently-formed Manchester band M60.
Total Stone Roses gig
A FEW tickets still remain for what promises to be a rousing night of Madchester nostalgia on Friday as the Total Stone Roses return to Whittles on King Street.
Widely-regarded as the UK’s number one tribute act, the Total Stone Roses will be playing all of the iconic band’s biggest hits.
Tickets cost £5 each. Log on to the Whittles Facebook page for the link to purchase.
On Saturday, classic rock covers with bite from ace band Zoo are promised. It’s free entry to that gig.
Cupids dates
FRESH from a storming set at the When in Manchester festival at Gulliver’s in Manchester last weekend, Oldham favourites Cupids have announced two more great dates.
The band have proudly announced that they will be playing the hugely popular Great Escape festival in Brighton again this year. That event takes place across the weekend of May 19-21.
The Wardrobe in Leeds is then the stage on Saturday, May 28, for the Big Mouth showpiece event when Cupids will star alongside fellow sought-after outfits the Carnabells and the Mexanines.
Golf club Visitors
OLDHAM outfit The Visitors have re-arranged their Crompton and Royton Golf Club gig which was postponed during the winter due to snow. The lads will now play the free entry show on Saturday, April 30. There will be special drinks offers on the night.
