THE big gigs continue to roll in thick and fast for Oldham stars Cupids.
On Saturday, Jake, Sid, Ryan and James hit London again as they feature in a free Stereo Freaks showcase night at The Finsbury alongside fellow highly-rated outfits The Hallucinations and New Star Gazers.
Meanwhile, Cupids have also revealed that they are chuffed to have bagged a slot on the prestigious FestEvol showpiece at the Camp and Furnace venue in Liverpool on Sunday, May 1.
Tickets are available via a link on Cupids’ Facebook page.
* CONTRASTING styles beckon this weekend at Whittles on King Street.
Friday sees Oaysis head into town — a band widely regarded as one of the best Oasis tribute acts around.
Tickets cost £5 for that gig, while on Saturday the genre switches to heavy rock as Blood Brothers play a free gig.
They are said to be the ultimate Iron Maiden tribute outfit, so another awesome night is in prospect.
* A GREAT night is guaranteed on Friday at Lees Live Lounge as Paddy O’Hare’s Replicants will be joined on stage by a very special guest. Legendary keyboard player Toni Baker, of Sixties favourites The Dakotas, will make an appearance. Don’t miss it.
* FORMER Twisted Wheel front-man Jonny Brown has organised a vinyl night at The Railway pub in Greenfield tomorrow night.
Vinyl junkies are invited to get down the popular hostelry with their 33s and 45s, when freestyle MCs are welcome to play some of their favourite tunes and classics. The night gets under way at 7.30pm.
* GET down to Mick Harwood’s Scoots, Suits and Boots store on Yorkshire Street on Saturday afternoon for the latest Black Sofa live music session.
Playing a live set will be Owen Baldwin and George Porter from Royton indie hopefuls the Recreation.
Owen and George will be belting out some terrific original and cover tunes between noon and 3pm.
* TALENTED Royton duo Lyceum have posted the brand new video for their latest original track “This” on their dedicated Facebook page.
* GET on your dancing shoes this Friday as popular Oldham rockers The Visitors head to Crompton and Royton Golf Club.
