York is a Christmas shopping heaven with its eclectic mix of shops as well as wonderful Christmas markets throughout York’s atmospheric streets! Here is an opportunity to shop until you drop amidst the picturesque streets of Medieval York, during the city’s traditional St Nicholas Fayre.
Selling every imaginable product from fine china and heraldic art to handcrafted souvenirs, textiles and unusual books, all accompanied by the smell of roasting chestnuts and the sounds of carol singers.
For unique presents from a different era head to the Medieval Market at Barley Hall. Be sure to try a pint of traditional ale or a glass of mulled wine at the Medieval bar!
There are loads more Christmas Fairs dotted in and around York! Castle Howard always organises magical Christmas events with loads of Crafts markets.
