LOCAL outfits Ok Broken, Last Race Home, The Transmitters, Feed the Kid and Time for Action are among the epic 100-strong line-up of artists who will feature at the brand new Rum 100 Festival.

The Rum 100, which will be staged at the picturesque Goose Green Farm site in Mottram St Andrew, near Macclesfield, between September 8 to 10, promises to be the festival lovers' dream come true.

It has been jointly dreamt up and organised by locally-based trio Paul Owen, Denis Ferrige and Dawn Roach, and now the bulk of the line-up has been announced, tickets are expected to fly out when they go on sale very soon.

Boasting three great stages, the Rum 100 festival will also feature three public bars, rum drinks served 100 ways and a magnificent mix of artists, bands, DJ's and acts from the world of performing arts, with a comedy show for good measure.

Failsworth-based Owen said: "Over the three days we want everyone of our festival goers to embark on a journey which stimulates all the senses.

"We're bringing bags of new music, as well as food and drink sourced both locally and from around the world."

The Rum 100 will feature something for everyone no matter what age.

Set within 67 acres of rolling countryside, there will also be on-site camping, a prosecco and cocktail bar with comfy seating along with a dedicated Rum Experience area to try some worldly rums, and great food.

There will be stunning 27ft tepees and a VIP area with table service and even posh toilets.

The music promises to be something special.

Musical Director Ferrige added: "Our team work in many areas of the Manchester and North-West music scene.

"We're big supporters of new music through our TV, Slice of Nice Radio shows and gigs. This festival will be a much bigger extension of that and more.

"This is something a bit special for new music and people who want to discover it. We're continuing to fulfil our common values which is to bring new music and the music people love and want to hear live and in full colour.

"We will also be reaching an even wider audience at the festival, with plans to televise the festival throughout the weekend on the That's TV network (Channel 7 on FreeView/YouView)."
