ONE of the most high-profile bands to appear at Set2Go Live at Manchester's Sound Control on November 6 - Ist Ist - jumped at the chance to feature at what promises to be a top day of celebrating up-and-coming music.

Oldham legend Clint Boon - along with co-promoters Ben Taylor and Joe McGrath - will showcase 11 unsigned bands and artistes during an exciting day which is set to kick-off at about 3pm, and Ist Ist's Andy Keating is relishing being involved.

The band's bassist, who is now based in Stockport but spent his formative sporting years with Boundary Park Juniors football club, said: "This event has got a lot of credibility.

"When we were approached by Clint, obviously we didn't hang about.

"It's going to be one of those days where I believe people should come and watch all the bands.

"I think there's 10 bands on, and some people will say 'I want to watch X and Y', but I'd say no, come and watch them all. They're all good bands, and with Clint DJ-ing it's just going to be a great day."

Ist Ist are Keating, front-man Adam Houghton and ace drummer Joel Kay. They have been together two years and are already one of Manchester's most hotly-tipped bands.

They play 'heavy dance music', according to Keating, so they've got to be worth a watch I reckon!
