WORSHIPPERS at St John’s Church, Failsworth, raised £376 at a Macmillan coffee morning.
The church also collected 45 bags of essentials for an aid convoy that left Rochdale last month heading to assist refugees.
STUDENTS and teachers at Oasis Academy, Hollins Road, indulged in their cake cravings, and raised £129 towards Macmillan cancer care at a coffee morning.
THE Holy Family Church, in Roman Road, brewed up a lot of a love for charity on its coffee morning. Visitors to the church helped raise £400 for Macmillan.
WHO built St John’s Church? Les Garner will be speaking at the Failsworth Historical Society meeting tomorrow about the family and work of the church’s architect, E. H. Shellard. Members should head to Broadbent Luncheon Club, in Lord Lane, for a 7pm start.
GREEN-fingered folk can get some gardening tips — and a free cuppa —at the Daisy Nook Garden Centre, from 10am tomorrow.
HELP is available for jobseekers at the Hollinwood Work Club this Thursday at Limehurst Library, from 1pm.
