Stephen Robinson
STEPHEN Robinson felt his side were again on the end of rough refereeing decisions after being denied two penalties in the Shrewsbury defeat:
"It is difficult and in the last two league games it has probably cost us five points, if we are being honest.
"Every decision went against us. I have seen them back and there are three penalties in the game - Charles Dunne's is a penalty for them as well.
"But what can you do? I can't change the decisions, so we just have to get on with it.
"We were brave and went 3-4-2 at the end and gambled a little bit with the whole thing. It nearly paid off, with Freddie (Ladapo) hitting the crossbar at the end.
"We were the better team for the whole game in my opinion and played with a bit more intensity when down to 10 men.
"We showed a lot of drive and passion, but ultimately if everything goes against you then decisions change games.
'HARDEST JOB'
"Referees have the hardest job in the world. But if you are not going to give the first one (on Peter Clarke) you can't give the second (on Ivan Toney). It's as simple as that.
"We are not here to vilify referees and hammer people. But it is people's livelihoods and people pay a lot of money to watch games and it costs them, unfortunately."
MICKY Mellon was relieved to get the win, having seen his side lose 3-2 from being 2-0 up a week earlier:
"Coming into this game after last week was always going to be difficult. You are not human if you don't carry some anxiety about it.
"The result last week is bound to have gone through their heads.
"It was all about getting a result today and moving on.
"There was a lot we could have done better, but it was about the result and showing the quality we needed to come to a place like Oldham and get three points.
"We have played much better and lost, but we had to play the conditions which weren't easy and we got over the line.
"Maybe we will fight to play entertaining football another day."
