GOALS from local boy Harry Bunn and Jack Payne saw Athletic lose their opening pre-season game.
Stephen Robinson's side conceded in the 72nd minute when Bunn, son of Athletic legend Frank, slotted home from a Jordan Williams cross.
Payne made it two in the 90th minute, heading in another centre from the right flank.
Athletic, under-cooked after only a brief pre-season programme, fielded all nine new signings and Billy Mckay stood out up front.
Th closest Robinson's side got to a goal was when Josh Law's firstt-half free-kick was well tipped over by returning Town goalkeeper Joel Coleman.
More on the game and the performances of the new men in Monday's Chronicle.
