ATHLETIC'S exodus is set to continue, with young goalkeeper Chris Renshaw primed for a move to Everton.

The highly rated 18-year-old has attracted significant interest from the Premier League club and talks will take place over a transfer.

In return, Athletic could negotiate to bring in young players on loan from Goodison Park for next season.

Salford-born Renshaw has been with Athletic since the age of 11 and impressed enough as a scholar to be offered a professional deal by the club for next season.

However, he is now likely to join fellow shot-stopper Joel Coleman - who completed his move to Huddersfield Town yesterday for an undisclosed fee - out of the door at SportsDirect.com Park.

That would leave Athletic with no goalkeeping coach, after Anthony White took up a position at Bournemouth, and no senior goalkeepers.

As it stands, the club are now down to six contracted players for next season: Liam Kelly, Rhys Murphy, Jake Cassidy, George Edmundson, Danny Byrnes and Connor Brown, with the latter also appearing to be on his way out.

Talks with a host of out-of-contract players from last season are in progress.

Meanwhile, Athletic's hunt for a new manager continues.

Chairman Simon Corney is back in the country and is believed to have interviewed Huddersfield's under-21s coach Frank Bunn yesterday.

The 53-year-old led the Terriers to the Professional Development League Two title this season.

Ex-Athletic striker Bunn has a strong coaching background, starting off at Manchester City's academy before moving to become first-team coach at Coventry working with Wales manager Chris Coleman.

He also assisted Steve Eyre at Rochdale before making a move to Huddersfield where he has spent the last four years.

Bunn has been backed in to 1-10 favourite to land the job, while another contender in Accrington boss John Coleman is understood to have pledged his future to the Sky Bet League Two club.

"Ideally we will have a manager in place by Monday, June 13 to enable squad building to take place in time for pre-season," read a statement from Athletic last week.
