DOMINIC Poleon could return to action at Fleetwood tomorrow as boss John Sheridan prepares his walking wounded for a relegation battle he says will “feel like a home game”.

Poleon hasn’t featured since taking a knock at Shrewsbury in January, in Sheridan's third game back in charge. The 22 year old will make the trip to the Highbury Stadium after resuming full training over the last couple of weeks.

"Dom is a lively character and he hasn’t had much game time, but with one or two injuries we have, I will decide whether or not he will be on the bench,” Sheridan said.

"He was in the first team when he got injured but let’s get it right — he has been out for quite a while.”

Sheridan’s hope is that of the four players injured at Barnsley — Brian Wilson, Carl Winchester, Mike Jones and James Wilson — three will be passed fit to play.

The injury concerns have all come at once, adding to season-ending problems for Aaron Amadi-Holloway and Timmy Thiele and the recall to Burton of loan star Matt Palmer.

“While I’ve been here, we haven’t h ad too many injuries,” Sheridan said. “Unfortunately they have come all at the same time. But I don’t dwell on it. I just try to get on with it.”

While expecting a tough clash against a Fleetwood side blessed with some good players, Sheridan praised the never-say-die mentality of his side.

In the game at Oakwell Athletic pulled back to 1-1 before giving away an uncharacteristic poor goal through a penalty.

Buoyed by travelling support of 1,400 Athletic fans tomorrow, the manager believes the backng can tip the balance the club’s way.

“If the season finishes today then we are safe and that’s all I am looking at — staying out of the bottom four.”
