FOUR points from two games was a good return for us from a pair of tough fixtures, but it could easily have been even better.

At Burton we created more than they did and it goes to show the difference between the top sides in the division and the rest isn’t that great.

Successive clean sheets is a real plus for us and having that solid base behind us, especially when we have players who can create, means we have a chance of winning any game.

The loss of Aaron Amadi-Holloway and Timmy Thiele to injury has been a big blow though. Aaron has been exceptional and Timmy has been training really well and itching to get his chance.

At the same time, it presents an opportunity for others and I am sure there is enough within the squad to make up for it.

Jake Cassidy played really well for the reserves at Preston and got the goal he needed. He might well get the chance to step up and prove his worth.

I played in that game on Tuesday as well and it was a really good run-out for us; we came up against players like Neil Kilkenny, Jermaine Beckford, John Welsh and Eoin Doyle.

It was a good result to win 3-1; the gaffer has spoken to us all about wanting to get momentum going for results right through the club.

Curtis Main has been brilliant. He works his socks off in every game and is as important as anyone in helping us get the results we’ve been getting. He also gets the chance now to make his mark and hopefully grab a few goals for us.

We have two home games coming up against Swindon and Walsall and we hope to win both. Chesterfield was a massive result for us and in the context of the table, it has dragged other teams into the battle near the bottom.

I don’t think anyone will fancy facing us right now, given our current form.
