Aaron makes giant strides

AARON Amadi-Holloway is piling up the new experiences while taking everything in his large stride.

For the first time in the big 23 year old's career, the on-loan forward will play twice in the space of three days for Athletic over the Easter weekend.

Scorer of two goals against Rochdale — his first brace in the professional game — Amadi-Holloway would have registered another but for a mistaken offside flag being raised.

The former Wales under-19 international has become a regular starter for Athletic, despite stepping up from League Two.

Ahead of tomorrow's clash at Burton, he says the main difference is that the game is less physical at the higher level.

"It will be very hard and I have never done that, playing Saturday and then Monday," said

Amadi-Holloway, who has now started Athletic's last seven games and become a fans' favourite for his whole-hearted displays.

"Every game is huge now and we need to pick up points wherever we can. It isn't too much of a difference between the divisions. League Two is more physical, believe it or not.

"The quality is better in this division, that's the only difference. And playing every week really has helped me. It hasn't been as big a difference as I thought it would be."

Athletic have 10 fixtures of huge importance left, with Amadi-Holloway confident the team can extricate themselves from the relegation mire.

"Of course we can. Most of the teams we have played against, I still think we have been the better team," he said. "But sometimes, results don't go your way, or decisions like the disallowed goal the other day.”

Amadi-Holloway is cautious over the future beyond early May.

"I haven't given any thought what I am going to do next season, as I am still a Wycombe Wanderers player,” he said. “I can't really say what I am planning on doing."

The most surprising loan hit in years does admit to enjoying his football at SportsDirect.com Park, though. Watch this space.
