Sheridan frustrated by result

JOHN Sheridan cut a frustrated figure after his side’s errors were exposed by 10-man Rochdale:
“I am very disappointed, with it being a derby and up against a local team. I'm a bit frustrated and down. Once we got the goal I believe we had some good chances.
“It is about anticipation in the box and this is what we talk about when we talk about goal scorers. We could have scored two or three in the first half and put the game to bed.
“They are a good footballing side and get players in areas to cause you problems. Once we got a grip of it, I thought we started to dominate.
“The penalty knocked us back and gave them belief at half-time. With the man sent off, it is a game-changer and gives us the advantage to hopefully go on and get the three points.
“But it wasn’t to be. We came out after half-time and I don’t know what was going on for the goals. We got punished for the silly little mistakes we made.
“For the penalty, we were in possession in the opposition half, but end up conceding a penalty. We have done well from defending set plays this season, but we conceded a goal from a corner. And the third goal is comical, giving the ball away so cheaply.
“We huffed and puffed, but didn’t have any cuteness. I am pleased for Aaron (Amadi-Holloway) to get his goals, but it is a difficult one to explain.”
