Draw a fair result

HANDY WORK . . . John Sheridan gets his message across to Athletic’s players.
JOHN Sheridan felt a draw was a fair result at Scunthorpe - but wasn’t happy with the home side's 88th-minute equaliser:
The Athletic manager said: “I wouldn't say we deserved to win the game, but we were in a great position to win it.
“Our second-half performance put us right back in the game and we gave them a lot more problems than we managed to in the first half.
“The changes made us more positive and we scored a great goal. But I think a draw was probably a fair result. We can't be too down, but we were so close to getting a great three points. That is a crying shame, because you feel like you have lost.
“I am very disappointed at the goal. We tried to keep the ball in the corner from a short corner and it went out of play.
“I don't look at the goal when it hits the net. I look 15 seconds before. They have a throw-in in their right-back position, we let them get out and three passes later they are crossing into our box.
“That should never happen and that is the naivety we have to get out of us, because we were in a great position to win the game.”
