RHYS Murphy could have been forgiven for wanting to cut ties with Oldham and move to Crawley permanently, something the Reds seem keen on too.
But having found a manager who has instilled trust in him, he is happy to continue forging a promising strike partnership with target man Jake Cassidy.
“I have had a chat with the manager and he has made me feel welcome and part of the plans, which is great for me,” Murphy said. “I’m back and hopefully I’m here to stay. I need to make sure my
performances stay high and that I keep scoring goals and helping the team.
“I wouldn’t say I am getting in different positions now to last year. But I am that bit sharper and the ball just seems to find you rather than going past you.
“I played in a two at Crawley and it worked well. Back here playing with Jake, there have been positives in a short space of time. It’s important for us to work hard to get that understanding. I believe there is potential for a good partnership.”
