THE PLAYERS are all looking forward to trying for three points against Millwall — especially with the result last week.
We got a point in the end against Colchester - but with the way the game played out, it felt like a defeat. We had the chances to put the game to bed when 1-0 up, but didn’t manage to get the goal that would have killed it off. Then we gifted them their goal - which actually gave them the upper hand. As the manager has said this week, we are doing all of the right things behind the scenes and continue to prepare for games in the right way. What is happening when we go out on to the pitch is hard to put our finger on. We looked solid enough at 1-0 up against Colchester, but as has happened so often this season, a soft goal cost us points.
Danny Philliskirk has gone to Blackpool this week and it is sad to see a good player like him go. Danny is a positive and well-liked presence in the dressing room.
I have been back on the bench and am hoping I can force my way into the side. I am really itching to get involved again, as we aim to get that win to help our confidence level so much.
The return of Rhys Murphy shows how important an ingredient confidence is. He did really well on loan and got games and goals under his belt and since he has come back, you can tell in everything he does that he believes he will score for us.
He has two in his last two now and hopefully he can carry on in that style, as we aim to start climbing up the league table.
