ATHLETIC’S conquerors in the Emirates FA Cup, Sheffield United, have been rewarded with a game against Manchester United in the third round.
The Blades can look forward to a big pay-day at Old Trafford early in the New Year.
Last night’s draw pitted Manchester City away to Norwich — one of five all-Barclays Premier League ties. The pick sees surprise leaders Leicester travelling to fifth–placed Tottenham, while holders Arsenal play host to Sunderland.
Part–timers Whitehawk will be rewarded with a glamour tie at Everton if they can make it into the third round, while Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is set to make his bow in the competition at Exeter.
Sixth–tier Whitehawk, whose cup run has already made history, ensured their name would be in the hat by holding Sky Bet League Two Dagenham 1–1 away on Sunday courtesy of Jordan Rose’s stoppage–time equaliser. If they finish the job at home in next week’s replay, a premier league rival awaits
