Shefki Kuqi: weighing options
SHEFKI Kuqi admits he has not yet made a decision on remaining at Athletic next season.
The 16-goal striker's contract runs out in the summer, though a clause will allow him to stay another year if he wishes.
After a difficult run to the end of the season both personally and for the team as a whole, 35-year-old Kuqi is concentrating more on other matters — namely the final two ganes of the season and impending fatherhood - his wife expects a baby in the summer.
"To be honest, I haven't thought about next season,” he said.
“I have a clause in my contract, but haven't spoken to the chairman or gaffer yet, so we will see."
Kuqi admits the majority of this season has been tough going after a promising start.
"We thought we would be fighting at the top of the table, rather than near the bottom," Kuqi added.
"I think a lot of clubs now want to see the season off as there is nothing to play for and it is quite hard, sometimes.”
