MARC OF A MAN: Klok provided Boxing Day tickets to a fan
MARC Klok came to the rescue of an Athletic fan who feared he wouldn't get to see his side in action at Sheffield United.
The Dutch midfielder, out of action with a calf injury, provided tickets for the Bramall Lane clash to fan Ric Metcalfe who had stated on Twitter that he and his travelling companion only had one ticket between them.
And with no tickets officially issued by the Blades on the day, Klok came to the rescue.
"Absolute working-class hero," tweeted Metcalfe. "It shows some of them have a heart. . . Thank you."
STATISTICS show that Athletic's major problem this season really does lie in converting the chances created.
Up to the Sheffield United match, Stephen Robinson's side had taken more than twice the amount of shots at goal, per goal scored, than any other team in Sky Bet League One.
On average, Athletic score one goal for every 18 attempts. The average for the division is around a goal for every nine shots taken.
LOAN
JAMIE Stott scored his first goal while on loan at Curzon Ashton, helping his side to a 2-1 win at Stalybridge Celtic.
Lee Knight was a 60th-minute substitute for Ashton United who won 2-1 against Warrington, while Kallum Mantack was unused off the bench for Alfreton.
