Details:
Tommyfield Market
Tommyfield market was home to the first chip shop and is immersed in history, character and has a story to tell. Open markets were once held on land owned by Thomas Whittaker, the land soon became known as Tommyfield and it was then christened Tommyfield Market.
The market is still a very lively place and there is over 115 stalls to visit- each one offering something different.
There is a range of stalls from an artisan cheese shop, a delicatessen, Caribbean food and many cosy cafés to enjoy a hot cuppa or a bacon buttie in.
It has many fresh food stalls to choose from including, Anthony Baymons meat stall, which features local meat produce that is sourced fresh every day.
