Summary

To contribute to the overall efforts of the Internal Audit Team in providing administration support and assurance to management and Elected Members. Along with to become aware of the concepts of “control” and “risk” within the Internal Audit context.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Principal Duties:

  • To gain internal audit and other transferable work skills and experience.
  • To assist audit colleagues with various audit assignments.
  • To perform own lower level audit assignments once experienced enough to do so (still under some guidance from audit colleagues).
  • To assist with the following up, and evidencing implementation, of recommendations agreed in audit reports.
  • To be aware of the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards and how they relate to the work of the Internal Audit Team.

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

The Authority operates a Smoke-Free Policy for all its employees and applies to any building and associated grounds within in the immediate vicinity of the building, which is wholly owned, leased, or operated and occupied by Rochdale Borough Council. Salary: £12,347 for 12 months, £22,366 for final 6 months Interview Date: 21st & 22nd January.
