Want to blow?
The Adult Community Wind Band plays a selection of modern and classic repertoire from the wind band tradition. We have also recently started a feeder group - The Training Wind Band - for less accomplished players who want to start playing again from a fairly basic level.

Who is it for?
- Adult Community Wind Band
Anyone who has left full time education and has experience of playing a relevant instrument - flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, cornet, horn (tenor or French), trombone, tuba, percussion.
Potential members may not have played for many years and could be a bit ‘rusty’. The wind band caters for these people as well as players who have only recently taken up an instrument. We also welcome more advanced players. The band gives regular concerts at venues such as the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
- Training Wind Band
Only basic knowledge is required, possibly only playing 5 or 6 notes and how to read them from notation (but not complete beginners). This band is a stepping stone to the full adult band for players who have not been playing for long or who have forgotten a lot! The band will perform at least twice a year but probably in smaller venues.
