FIND out more about the work done at the Donkey Sanctuary with a talk at Royton Townswomen’s Guild on Tuesday, September 8.

HOMEMADE jam, delicious cakes and gifts galore will be on sale at the Dr Kershaw’s Hospice Bring and Buy event on Saturday. Open at the Royton hospice from 10am to 1pm, the day will also see author Pam Hill signing her books while Tropic Skincare products will be offering natural vegan products, which have been backed by Lord Alan Sugar. Visitors can also get a first look at the hospice’s range of Christmas cards and calendars.
YOUNGSTERS can enjoy bedtime stories with storyteller Rogan Mills at Royton Library on Wednesday, September 9. The free sessions are an ideal way to develop a relaxing bedtime reading routine and children can bring along their favourite cuddly toy to the event, which runs from 6 to 7pm.
HOW was Chadderton involved in the Great War? All will be revealed at Royton Local History Society talk on Monday, September 14. Learn more about how 5,500 service men took part in WW1 and how the remaining citizens continued on with the help of the local council. The meeting takes place at Downey House, Church Street, Royton, from 7.30pm.
FIND out more about the history of Royton with a heritage walk through the town centre on Saturday, September 12. The walk, which lasts from 11am to 12.30pm starts from Royton Library, Rochdale Road.
ENJOY a good book? Then take part in the Royton Library reading group at the library Thursday from 2 to 3pm.
