Maintenance on gas mains in Royton will cause disruption to several roads until mid-December.
Engineers are replacing old gas mains with modern plastic pipes. The roads affected are Shaw Road, Blackshaw Lane, Princess Road and Manchester Road.
ROYTON Townswomen’s Guild will host an open evening and “An Audience with Steve Hill MBE” at their meeting on Tuesday, July 14. Mr Hill, deputy head of St Joseph’s Primary School, Shaw, will give a talk about his charity challenges at Royton Town Hall from 7.30pm. Entrance costs £3 members and £4 non-members. THE Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at St Anne’s Primary School in Royton has thanked everyone who supported its recent fundraising events including the balloon race, secret Father’s Day and fashion show. The team raised £972 which will go towards the £12,000 cost of creating a Trim Trail in the junior playground.
