Chelsea boast winning sense

IT looks like a straight fight between Manchester City and Arsenal for that runners-up spot behind Chelsea now.
City weren’t at their best against Aston Villa, but they got the three points and that’s what it’s all about. The momentum is kept going and second place looks definitely on again.
Villa looked quite a good side at the Etihad. They played some decent football and Tim Sherwood has got them fighting again.
I think Chelsea will be worthy champions though, presuming they go on to take the title. There’s an old saying - “the league table doesn’t lie” - and that looks to be the case this season. They have looked consistently strong and have lots of very capable players; crucially, they have shown they’ve got the knack of winning games even when they haven’t necessarily played that well.
Another impressive point to note is that Chelsea haven’t yet lost to any of the other teams in the top four this season. They clearly turn it on for the big games, and the manager knows how to get his tactics exactly right.
Next up for City is a trip to Tottenham on Sunday, and I’m particularly looking forward to this one because I’m going to the game. I’ve been asked by the club to speak at a lunch at City’s London headquarters before the match.
The club hierarchy, sponsors and a lot of corporate guests will be there, and I will share a few of my memories with them.
It will be quite informal, so I’m looking forward to it immensely: I’ve got so many great memories of the time I’ve spent with City.
