PICTURE perfect... superfan Rachel Fish with her drawing to be used on the new Gloria Estefan album
A GREENFIELD Gloria Estefan-atic can’t stop smiling - because the pop star and actress has chosen one of her drawings as her new album cover!
Rachel Fish (45) developed an interest in the singer when she was studying art at Oldham College as a teenager. A huge fan of Estefan’s music, Rachel has travelled to America for fan gatherings and in 2013 we reported how she had gone to the Royal Albert Hall in London with her daughter Courtney for a concert and presented the singer with charcoal drawings of Gloria’s dog Noelle and grandson Sasha.
Gloria loved the drawings - and has now gone one better, promising to use a charcoal sketch Rachel did of her idol as the cover of her new album “Soy Mujer”.
Rachel said: “I sent off a few of my drawings on Twitter and later saw she had sent me a message asking for my contact details. Someone who works for Gloria then told me she wants to use one of my drawings as her album cover. I nearly fell off my chair!
“It was just a real ‘wow’ moment. I have been a fan for nearly 30 years and love her music.”
The album — out on September 4 — is a compilation of her work, and Rachel can’t wait to get her hands on it.
She said: “I’m a huge fan so I’d obviously be looking forward to her new album anyway; but now my excitement is on a different level.”
