LOCAL heroes of World War One will be honoured by two new exhibitions touring to Oldham.
The displays recognise the bravery of Victoria Cross holders and the Oldham Pals.
“Oldham’s Victoria Crosses” tells the story of three men — Thomas Steele, Walter Mills and John Hogan — who received England’s highest military decoration for their heroism in battle.
The second exhibition, “The Oldham Pals”, remembers the legacy of the 24th Manchester’s Battalion using archives and stories of the men who were there.
The exhibitions will travel to different libraries from Saturday spending around three weeks at each one.
