A DINOSAUR and dalek invasion of Oldham was a roaring success.
Families at the Spindles Shopping Centre were transported back to the Jurassic era on Saturday, when palaeontologist Susanna Stone introduced dinosaur lovers to “Tiny”, an animated baby stegosaurus.
Moorside mum Carol Peake enjoyed a family day out with eight-year-old Callum and four-year-old Lucy: “It’s very good — the children really enjoyed it,” she said. “Callum loves dinosaurs. He’s obsessed with them.”
At Oldham Library, Dr Who lovers enjoyed an afternoon of fun at the venue was transformed into the Tardis control room. Visitors met the Cybermen, K9 and Doctor Who’s arch enemies, Davros and the Daleks, as well as making their very sonic screwdrivers.
Kate Smyth, library development officer, said: “It has been absolutely packed. We have had hundreds through the doors. The aim is to encourage new members for the summer reading challenge and getting more people into the library.”
