New North Stand at Oldham Athletic.
Oldham Athletic chairman Simon Corney has apologised that the club’s new North Stand won’t be available for the first three games of the season - despite club assurances it would.
Electricity North West has told the developer plans to connect electricty to the stand - due by the end of last week - has been delayed, and a new date is still to be confirmed. Until the supply is connected, final installation, testing and commissioning works can’t be undertaken or the stand approved for public use.
Latics fans with North Stand tickets for the first three games, starting with the Capital One League Cup tie against Middlesbrough on August 11, will be given alternative seats.
Chairman Simon Corney said: “This is a huge blow to our launch programme and we are both disappointed and sorry the wait for our new stand is going to be just a little longer. We do hope fans bear with us and can see the end is in sight.
Discussions continue with Electricity North West to remedy the situation as quickly as possible.
