THE headteacher of Clarksfield Primary School has paid tribute to a “happy and bubbly” six-year-old girl who died in an horrific car crash that has left her parents fighting for life.
Aleeza Ahmed was involved in the collision on Sunday afternoon, when two vehicles collided on Crookilley Way, near the M60 in Bredbury. Her parents, Ahmed Hussain (35) and Sobia Sultana (23), remain seriously ill in hospital.
School head Trish O’Donnell said: “The whole school would like to express our shock and deep sadness.
“Aleeza was a beautiful, happy, bubbly six year old who enjoyed school. She always had a lovely, beaming smile for everyone, enjoyed school activities and had lots of friends. She will be very sadly missed by all.
“We would like to offer our deepest condolences to Aleeza’s family and friends, who have asked for privacy at this very sad time. All our thoughts and prayers are with them.”
Firefighters released all three occupants from the vehicle. The people in the second car - a 31-year-old man and children aged 11 and nine - suffered minor injuries. Police are now appealing for information.
PC Paul Hailwood, from the serious collision investigation unit, said: “I’d urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision to speak to police.”
Call the unit on 0161-856 4741/5 or 101.
