Security guard who let dogs die in car banned for life

AN Oldham man who left two rottweilers to die in a hot car at the Creamfields festival in Warrington last year has been banned from keeping animals for life.
Paul Cave (60) of Eton Avenue was found guilty in February of three cruelty offences after dogs Rebel and Zola died in the hot car.
Cave, sentenced in his absence at Warrington magistrates court, was conditionally discharged for 12 months and ordered to pay £260 costs.
Anthony Joynes, RSPCA inspector, said: “This case is a distressing example of how dogs really do die in hot cars. The meximum temperature for the day was 17C, which shows it doesn’t have to be very hot outside. Cave completely failed Rebel and Zola and the dogs paid the ultimate price for those failures.
“The vet described how the dogs would have suffered to an unimaginable extent. That heartbreaking point has rarely left me.”
