Every little helps with 14,500 meal donations

TESCO customers in Oldham dug deep as 14,572 meals were donated across seven stores during a three-day collection.
This is the equivalent of enough food to feed every audience member at the Oldham Coliseum Theatre 27 times over.
Tesco customers have donated 3.6 million meals nationwide during the sixth Neighbourhood Food Collection. The food will be redistributed to people in need with the supermarket chain added an extra 30 per cent as its own donation.
There has also been a significant increase in the amount of food customers are donating day in day out at in-store permanent collection points. Over 2.1 million meals worth of food were donated at permanent collection points in 507 Tesco stores in the first six months of 2015, almost as much as the whole of 2014 combined.
The total of meals donated to people in need since The Neighbourhood Food Collection began in December 2012 is now at 27.5 million.
