Failsworth school in Tatton show
Date published: 21 July 2015
FAILSWORTH poet Ben Brierley was the inspiration for green-fingered pupils who have created a garden at the North-West’s top flower show.
The plot by Higher Failsworth Primary School features everything from flagstones in the shape of poetry books to a maypole and is one of 12 gardens inspired by social folklore or heritage themes created by primary schools for this year’s RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park from Wednesday.
Members of the school’s gardening club came up with the design and pupils have grown all the plants themselves from seed. Children from every year have been involved in creating the different elements.
