A VINTAGE car show in Oldham town centre got local car enthusiasts’ motors running this weekend.
The free rally, organised by Tame Valley Vintage and Classic Car Club with support from Oldham Town Centre Partnership, featured vehicles parked in High Street yesterday for a day of entertainment.
More than 30 cars, motor-cycles and commercial vehicles were on display.
The event included vintage double-decker buses, former army vehicles and classic car favourites, such as Rolls-Royce, Mini and Land-Rover.
Visitor Ray Fielding toured the display with seven-year-old Riley and said: “It’s a really nice event for the town.
“Riley loved having a look inside the army vehicles and getting on board the buses.”
Gemma Saunders (25) visited the event with her son Thomas (3) and loved the variety of vehicles to look at.
She said: “Thomas is car mad and so I knew we’d have to come down to have a look around.
“He’ll probably want to stay all day having a look at them. His favourite so far has been the motorbike.”
Entertainment was also provided by Billy Bedlam Jazz Band, Adventurous Mr Todd and Ratty as well as Oldham Theatre Workshop’s fun street theatre show Hold-em Taxis.
