THE seventh One Oldham Business Awards proved to be a huge success.
Held at the Queen Elizabeth II Hall the borough’s dignitaries and business leaders filled the room.
Television impressionist Jon Culshaw was host and had the room in stitches with a catalogue of impressions.
The night began with a dance performance by youngsters from Mahdlo Youth Zone and ended with the surprise announcement of a lifetime achievement award for business leader Norman Stoller.
Business Man of the Year Frank Rothwell stole the show with an hilarious introduction video showcasing his larger-than-life personality.
Steve Kilroy, chair of the awards, told the crowd: “I’m proud to stand here and I’m proud to be from Oldham. Other boroughs try to emulate what we are doing here.
“Oldham’s got a wealth of business talent and it is because of events like this that we are able to share it. In the seven years we have been operating more than 3,000 people have attended and we have shortlisted over 300 finalists and we have put a lot of faith in young people.
“I would like to thank all the sponsors, without them we could not hold such a fantastic event.”
