I was also a victim of violent beast

A SECOND victim of an alleged possessive sadist has told a trial jury how she was assaulted, beaten, abused and choked until she passed out.

The 31-year old woman, who bore a son to defendant Iqbal Ali during their seven-year relationship, said he controlled her every move, would inflict pain for the least excuse - including hitting her with a pair of boots with steel toecaps, which he wore on his hands like boxing gloves.

On one occasion he forced her to climb into a wardrobe, put the barrel of a gun in her mouth and told her he could pull the trigger and leave her body.

After accusing her of showing interest in other men, he made her stand partially clothed at their bedroom window while he scrawled the word “slut” across her chest and stomach.

The woman said Ali, of Broadway, Chadderton, had punched her in the stomach while she was seven months pregnant with their son, leaving her terrified she might have lost the baby.

Manchester Crown Court was told that after living with her for a while, he told her another woman would be moving in with them. She said she desperately tried to leave him, but he forced her to return by threatening her family.

If he went out he told her to ring him on his mobile using their landline every 15 minutes so he would know she was at home.

The trial jury has been told that Ali is accused of inflicting violence and abuse on four separate women with whom he had relationships.

The first victim, now 28, suffered sickening burn and scald injuries and could have died without emergency surgery last October.

Ali faces a total of 25 charges. The trial continues.
