SHOCKED . . . Dale Wild
A THRIVING furniture firm has been left devastated after an arson attack caused more than £15,000 worth of damage.
Firefighters were called to Oldham Sofa Company’s workshop in Holden Fold Lane, Royton on Sunday afternoon. Crews tackled flames for two hours before handing the building back to stunned owner Dale Wild. Crews were able to stop the blaze from spreading.
Mr Wild (32) started the company in June 2014 and has built up a strong reputation.
Yesterday, staff, customers and former employees gave up their bank holiday to help fix the mess after learning of the news.
Mr Wild, from Shaw, said: “I’m just devastated. I have worked so hard to build it up and now someone has gone and done this, I can’t believe it. We’ve thrown away at least £15,000 worth of fabric. We were doing really well, business has been great but this has definitely set us back about six months, it’s devastating.”
Police are investigating.
