A DIGGLE mum in remission from breast cancer is appealing for help to bag a national prize.
Jo Taylor has entered Virgin Media’s “Pitch To Rich 2015”, which could see her grab a share of £1million, which she would use to expand the website she uses to support other sufferers.
The site — www.abcdiagnosis.co.uk — features information on surgical procedures, new research developments and diet and exercise tips, as well as documenting Jo’s own illness and treatment.
Jo says the money would allow her to create phone apps dedicated to breast reconstruction and lifestyle as well permitting a “buddy scheme” support network.
She said: “Having a support network in place is vital throughout the cancer journey, which can last for many years.
“I’m passionate about creating something to help others. I’ve made contact with a community of patients, advocates and professionals worldwide.
“A year after the website launch, I was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer. I’m currently in remission but am still having treatment.”
After the public voting round, a shortlist of 30 will be drawn up before judges decide on the 10 winners. Voting closes on Tuesday. Visit www.virginmediabusiness.co.uk/pitch-to-rich/start-up/after-breast-cancer-diagnosis to vote for Jo. Follow her on Twitter @abcdiagnosis.
