Councillor in court on pics charges
Date published: 17 April 2015
A SADDLEWORTH parish councillor has appeared at crown court facing charges of making and possessing indecent images of children.
Mike Buckley (67), from Dobcross, was subject to a police investigation last year. His home was raided last March. He entered not guilty pleas to 17 charges before Oldham Magistrates last month.
Mr Buckley is alleged to have had 421 category C images of boys aged between six and 18 on his computer. Judge Stuart Driver QC was told there may be an application to dismiss the charges.
The images are said to have contained no overtly sexual content. A provisional trial date has been set for December 2
