Polyflor marketing manager Tom Rollo, market manager Sonia Petherbridge, PR and communications manager Kerry Edward and manufacturing director Steve Mullholland receive the award from Insider magazine.
VINYL flooring manufacturer Polyflor, which has its UK distribution and sales centre in Royton, has been recognised for its environmental credentials with a regional business award.
The firm received the Green/Sustainable Manufacturer of the Year accolade at the Insider magazine’s Made in the North West Awards. The company employs 500 staff in Greater Manchester, 136 of them in Royton.
Polyflor was chosen for the honour because of its long-term commitment to sustainability and responsible materials sourcing.
Steve Mulholland, the firm’s manufacturing director, was presented with the award by Chris Maguire, editor of North West Business Insider magazine and host for the evening.
Mr Mulholland said: “The Polyflor team is delighted to have won this award, especially as it was our first time at the event. To be recognised as one of the region’s top manufacturers and a company that prioritises environmental issues is a fantastic achievement for us.”
Polyflor has successfully reduced its carbon footprint through plant operations and logistics, as well as collecting rain water so that 96 per cent of the water used in manufacturing processes is recycled.
Polyflor’s flooring includes up to 40 per cent recycled content.
