SADDLEWORTH Civic Trust has an illustrated presentation by author and historian David Cockman on Thursday, September 3 — “Romans on the Pennines — Slack and Castleshaw” — at Sacred Heart Catholic Hall, Uppermill, from 7.30pm.
ST MARY’S Church, Greenfield is holding its Ladies Luncheon Club on Thursday, September 3, at Tame Valley Tennis Club, from 11.30am.
Grotton Residents’ Association’s Grotton Gala returns on September 12, from 11am-3pm at The Pavilion, Station Road, Grotton.

ANYONE aged 50 or over is invited to join Age UK for a scenic stroll every Tuesday afternoon from 2pm. The dementia-friendly strolls will take place in Uppermill with the group meeting at the side of Warburton Court, just off Uppermill High Street, and take a short route finishing back at Warburton Court.
