Family pay tribute to a ‘small lady with a huge and feisty personality’

The family of Jean Catherine Day, who was 83, have paid tribute to a ‘loving mother and grandmother’ following a fatal road traffic collision on Ashton Road in Oldham on Sunday, October 27 this year.
She was taken to hospital for treatment, but despite the best efforts of emergency services and hospital professionals, she sadly passed away.
In a heartfelt tribute, Jean’s family said: “Very sadly and unexpectedly Jean passed away after a short stay in hospital on November 21, 2024.
"She was 83 years old.
“She was a small lady with a huge and feisty personality, a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
“God bless and may she rest in peace.”
Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell footage, from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
