An ‘eclectic’ set of fresh items have been donated to St Thomas' in Delph to boost their appeal to help refurbish the cash-strapped church.
They range from walking sticks to 1970s radios, and a 1940s Squirrel Lock fur jacket to modern jewellery.
Our picture shows some of the items donated, including a 1950s teddy, an original London fire brigade helmet and an embroidered picture.
Other items included ladies' vintage high fashion clothing.
“Our thanks go to everyone who has donated anything,” said Rev John Rosedale, the Saddleworth team vicar.
The items will be given a professional assessment by BBC TV antique expert Caroline Haskey from Flog It! and added to her online auction next month.
She is not charging fees or commission for selling the goods.
Rev Rosedale revealed that in two years the stalwart 80-strong congregation have raised a more than £400,000 for major refurbishment works at the church, which is also a village community hub.
He said: “With increased costs we were £60,000 short of the new total and would not be able to pay.
"The call went out for more financial support and one particular response helped us to think again, not cash but unwanted valuables that we could take to auction.
"We are so pleased with the warm-hearted response.”
