Pole and corn takes Taylor to victory

ANGLING: CONRAD Taylor took first place in the latest Medlock Bridge AC Saturday open match on the park lake.
His pole and corn fished over swimstim approach tempted some good bream, tench and f1s that weighed 11lb 7oz. Geoff Dawson continued his excellent run with a second-best 10lb 14oz of f1s to 3lb and tench to 2lb that fell to the pole and corn.
THE Ashton Canal open match on the scrapyard length was won by Ken Power (Tri-Cast Highfield) with his maggot fished over groundbait working well as he tipped 5lb 7oz of hand-sized hybrids on to the scales. He edged Dave Holland (Tri-Cast) into second as he bagged 5lb 4oz of skimmers taken on red maggot fished just up the far shelf.
LEWIS Breeze (Sensas) topped an impressive 70-peg open match on Old Hough Farm Fishery. Breeze weighed in 54lb of mostly carp, beating Alex Hulme into second as he weighed in 52lb 2oz
CHRIS Lett is on fire at the moment, winning yet another of the Todmorden AS Tuesday evening members matches on Croft with 25lb 5oz of carp that fell to the pole, chopped worm and caster.
Ian Ridgeway is another who is often in the money, and his second-best 19lb 8oz of carp fell to the tip and pellet.
BEN Summerscales stormed to victory in the latest Todmorden AS match on Townhouse, with pole and pellet netting him 41lb 5oz of carp. Second best was Pete Mottram, with his 36lb 2oz of carp falling to pole and pellet.
The final of the Todmorden AS Tuesday evening series is being held on Bank Holiday Monday on Croft. The draw is at 1pm, with the match from 2pm to 7pm.
ORGANISER Dave Machin was first in the Diggle AC Tuesday evening match, with his 9lb 12oz catch including a carp and some skimmers that fell to pole and paste. Dave Chadwick (Team Matrix) was next, with his short pole and maggot getting him plenty of bites for 9lb 2oz of small silvers.
ROACHES Lock was the venue for the latest Mossley match fished on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, where Alan Davidson topped the weights with 3lb 2oz of roach taken on waggler and maggot.
Chris Butterworth was second with 3lb 2oz of bream and roach.
