Ali Ashat (pictured) smashed a six for Lahore Lions on the opening night of the Hollinwood Cricket Club floodlit competition.
Ashat’s efforts were in vain though, as the Lions were beaten in a super-over after a tie with Manchester Rangers. In the other match last night, On Q beat Peshawar by eight wickets.
Eight teams are taking part. This week’s group games start at 6.30pm and 8.30pm, and are of 15 overs a side.
The final is next Monday and will be between the top teams from each group, starting at 7pm, and will be 20 overs per side. Entry to the ground on Lime Lane costs £1.
