ANGLING: NICK Andrew topped the latest Socials AC match on an in-form Tyle Lodge.
His up in the water approach helped land two good carp and plenty of silvers for 30lb 8oz. Larry Hazeldine was second, his worm and caster approach working well as he tipped 24lb 15oz of carp, rudd, chub and bream into the weighing bag.
GEOFF Dawson topped an impressive SADAS members match on Eagle Mill Dam, with his pole and maggot tactics working well as he netted 18lb 12oz of bream, roach and skimmers. He didn’t have it all his own way though, because Malc Taylor wasn’t that far behind him as he tipped 15lb 9oz of bream roach and skimmers on to the scales.
SATURDAY’S Medlock Bridge AC open match on the park lake saw in-form Martin Taylor (Matrix Halifax) net first place with an early f1 on the tip, before a switch to the pole, maggot and caster saw him catching f1, roach and bream adding up to 13lb 1oz. Second-placed Peter Greenhall caught the odd fish on the tip, but found the pole and maggot most fruitful as he put 12lb 9oz of tench, f1s and bream onto the scales.
Monday’s Medlock match saw weights improve with winner Joe Rowan netting himself some decent bream and f1s on pole and maggot to weigh in 16lb 13oz. Stefan Gent arrived late and it cost him the match as he tipped a second-best 16lb 10oz
DAVE Chadwick (Matrix Halifax) made it three wins in the latest of the Diggle AC Tuesday evening matches on Tanner’s Dam with short pole, maggot and caster tempting 10lb 13oz of roach and skimmers. That was enough to ease organiser and regular money winner Dave Machin into second with his pole and meat tempting 7lb 14oz of skimmers.
GEOFF Ogden (Tight Lines Shaw) took first place in the latest Twingates AC evening match on the club water, with chopped worm and caster fished at seven metres catching him a 3lb tench, ide and skimmers that together weighed 12lb 7oz. Dave Ireland again made the frame with a second-best 11lb 14oz of ide and skimmers.
