Shak-attack leaves Shaw in tatters

SADDLEWORTH maintained their SWB Commercials Saddleworth and District League top-flight title charge with a thumping 163-run victory at stunned rivals Shaw.
Brian Lord's men took first knock at Holebottom Clough, registering an imposing 253 for seven as Pete Roberts scored 67. Mohammed Shakir then took six wickets for just 40 – including an incredible triple-wicket maiden – as Shaw were bowled out for just 90 in their reply.
Moorside remain in second place in the standings thanks to an easy nine-wicket success against Whalley Range.
Replying to Range's opening knock of 129 all out – James Barron took five for 38 – Moorside cruised to 130 for one, with Richard Baines smashing 72 not out.
Greenfield continued their pursuit of the top three with a crushing eight-wicket victory at Droylsden.
Mike Bird took a superb eight wickets for 57 runs as hosts Droylsden scored 130 all out.
Andy McVeigh then registered 55 not out as Greenfield sailed to their victory
target.
Alton Beckford was in terrific form for Wythenshawe as they got the better of Micklehurst at Richmond Hill.
Beckford scored 52 in Wythenshawe's 165 all out, before taking six for 49 as the hosts were skittled for just 93.
Austerlands enjoyed a huge victory at Stayley in their mid-table clash.
Batting first, Austerlands clocked up 271 for eight, with Asif Zakir cracking a
brilliant 128 and CJ Ferreira adding 53.
Stayley were bowled out for 171 in their reply as Shahid Mahmood took seven for 43. Oral Rankine scored 55.
Division Two pace-setters Whalley Range won again, this time at home against Moorside.
Saagar Chohan top-scored with 54 as Range scored 163 for four as they
triumphed by six wickets.
Second-placed Greenfield (339 all out) hammered Droylsden by 280 runs at Ladd Hill Lane.
James Ashton was in super form as he scored 146 for the hosts.
