SEMI-FINAL places in the Pro Elite Sports Twenty20 Competition are at stake on Friday.

The stand-out tie is at Well-i-Hole, where Saddleworth welcome title rivals Glodwick. The two sides met in the league on the opening day of the season, with Saddleworth easy winners.

But Joe Taylor, a recent acquisition from Littleborough, is unavailable for the hosts. Taylor and cousin Matt Taylor both switched to the CLL last autumn following Werneth’s relegation from the premier division.

After an indifferent start — they lost two of their opening three games — Glodwick have got their act together. Franco Lenhardt’s men have risen to joint top of the table with Moorside.

Waqar Khan will hope to carry over his good form from last weekend when Shaw visit basement boys South-West Manchester. He arrived at Holebottom Clough primarily as a bowler, but has shone with the bat.

Khan struck an unbeaten 145 against Droylsden on Saturday, three weeks after smashing Micklehurst’s bowling attack for 170.

Moorside stand in the way of Friarmere and a last-four ticket. It’s a tall order for the hosts, but they also possess a batsman in form.

Imran Khan’s 119 against South-West Manchester helped Friarmere to only their second victory in the league so far this season.

Greenfield have something to prove after they were shot out for 97 by Glodwick last weekend.

Austerlands are the visitors to Ladhill Lane. In contrast, Mark Peters’ side will have a spring in their step after piling up a match-winning 307 against Wythenshawe recently.
