Brownbill pockets victory

THE latest Medlock Bridge AC open match on the Park Lake saw improved weights as Tom Brownbill took the winners’ prize.
The Maver NW rod’s seven f1s and skimmers fell to pole and worm and added up to 16lb 12oz.
Bob Harrison (Team HB) took second with his 16lb 4oz catch which included four f1s and some decent skimmers to around the 2lb 8oz mark that fell to pole and pellet.
Saturday’s winner Billy Brierley took third on the night with his worm and maggot hookbaits working to good effect as he weighed in with 12lb 5oz of skimmers, chub and roach.
STEVE Baines (Tight Lines, Shaw) took first place in a Twingates AC evening match on the club water, with pellet fished at nine metres tempting 12lb 4oz of skimmers and two small carp.
Wayne Neal took second place with 8lb 12oz of skimmers and roach, and he was followed by Geoff Ogden (Tight Lines), with his 8lb 10oz net including skimmers and ide.
THE Diggle AC match on Tanner’s Dam was won by Ian Hirst with his 11lb 6oz net including ide, roach and the odd skimmer taken on pole and maggot.
Organiser Dave Machin took second with his 10lb 15oz made up of two small carp and some skimmers taken on waggler and maggot.
Martin Taylor (Halifax Matrix) took third place with his 10lb 2oz of roach taken on the caster.
The previous match on Tanner’s Dam was won by Machin thanks to a 12lb 8oz net.
