CRICKET: IT was a miserable weekend in the Drakes Huddersfield League for Delph, who crashed out of the Sykes Cup at the first hurdle.
Away at divisional rivals Hoylandswaine, Delph took first knock and scored 132 all out, with Andrew Gleave's 31 the top individual effort. In reply, Hoylandswaine coasted to an easy win as they reached 133 without losing a single wicket.
Delph's scheduled Premiership fixture at Broad Oak on Saturday was a wash-out.
WOODHOUSES continue to struggle at the wrong end of the Greene King Lancashire County League table.
They lost their third straight game of the season, at home against Stand. Replying to the hosts' rain-interrupted total of 90 for nine, Stand scored 91 for the loss of six wickets.
CHRIS Dent's second LV= County Championship hundred of the season ensured Gloucestershire had just the better of day one against Lancashire at Emirates Old Trafford. Dent scored 116 off 247 balls and batted through almost 86 overs of a day which started with skipper Geraint Jones electing to bat.
The 24–year–old left–hander shared in half–century partnerships for the first four wickets as the Nevil Road county closed on 322 for seven from 95.4 overs.
